On August 19, 2011, we laid to rest a member of our family. This man was not only a veteran, but a husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. I would like to recognize the compassion, efficiency and respect awarded to those that serve their country. Out of respect for his family privacy – it’s enough to say that God knows his name.
Through the ceremony, and still, I think of what his life as my brother-in-law taught me, and I will be forever grateful. His kindness, respect and consideration towards me sealed my view of his character. I enjoyed his sense of humor and being around him gave me many memories of pleasant family times together.
We are blessed to have a large extremely close family. We are a diverse group of people, each making their own decisions of how they want to live their lives. When we are together, the bond is unmistakable – the love and sense of security is evident. I am incredibly thankful to be a part of this family, and pray for my grandchildren to be blessed with that same family bond.
Knowing that people are never perfect, I strive to be the most honorable person I can, because for me, family and friends are the most important haven of my life. When it’s my time to pass away – I want to leave behind the best memories and peace for those that shared so much love and care.
Ouch… I’m sorry for your loss… May he rest in peace.
Thank you, Matthew.
I’m so sorry for you loss – it is never easy to lose a loved one. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Your kind words are appreciated. Thank you.
